Process of Form Filling & Key Mistakes to Avoid
Follow these steps carefully on the new SSC website (ssc.gov.in) to avoid rejection.
- Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR): Since SSC has launched a new website, all candidates must generate a new OTR. Old registration numbers (ssc.nic.in) will not work.
- Step 2: Login & Dashboard: Login using your Registration Number and Password. Click on "Apply" under the 'Constable (GD) Exam 2025' tab.
-
Step 3: Preference of Forces (Very Important): You must fill the code for CAPFs in order of preference (e.g., A=BSF, B=CISF, C=CRPF).
*Tip: Choose the force you actually want to join as the 1st preference. This cannot be changed later. - Step 4: Live Photo Capture: The new system requires a Live Photograph via webcam or mobile app. Ensure good lighting and a plain background.
- Step 5: Signature Upload: Upload a scanned signature (10-20 KB) in JPEG format.
⚠️ Common Mistakes That Lead to Rejection:
- Blurry Live Photo: Ensure your face is fully visible, eyes open, and no glasses/caps are worn. The background must be light/plain.
- Wrong Post Preference: Many candidates fill preferences randomly (e.g., A, B, C, D) without knowing the force code. Check the notification for codes before filling.
- Category Error: Filling OBC/EWS without having a valid certificate valid for the financial year.
- Matriculation Roll No: Mismatch between entered Roll Number and 10th Certificate.
