  1. Step 1: Registration: Visit the official website (mha.gov.in) and click on the recruitment link. Register using a valid Email ID and Mobile Number. You will receive a User ID and Password.
  2. Step 2: Login & Personal Details: Login with the credentials. Fill in personal details, parents' names, and address. Select the SIB (Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau) carefully based on your Domicile.
  3. Step 3: Educational Qualifications: Enter details of Matriculation (Year of Passing, Board, Marks/Grade).
  4. Step 4: Upload Documents:
    • Photograph: Recent color passport size (not older than 3 months). White background is preferred. Size: 50-100KB.

⚠️ Key Mistakes to Avoid:

  • Wrong Domicile: You can only apply for the SIB of the state where you legally hold a Domicile Certificate. Applying for a different state will lead to rejection.
  • Photo Issues: Do not upload selfies, blurry images, or photos with caps/goggles. Ensure the face covers 70-80% of the image.
  • Multiple Applications: Submitting multiple applications may lead to the cancellation of all applications.

Can I apply for any state's SIB vacancy?

No, you can only apply for the SIB (Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau) of the state where you possess a valid Domicile Certificate. You cannot apply for vacancies in other states.

Is the Tier-II exam marks added to the final merit list?

No, the Tier-II Descriptive exam is of qualifying nature only. You need to score at least 20 out of 50 marks to qualify. The final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Tier-I exam only (subject to qualifying Tier-II).

Is there any negative marking in the IB MTS exam?

Yes, there is a negative marking of 1/4 (0.25) marks for every incorrect answer in the Tier-I objective exam.
